1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern the relationship between turnifure.com ("turnifure.com," "we," "us," or "our"), represented by Javier Carrera, and the individual or entity using the ModMaker tool, using Turnifure Studio, saving or managing parametric recipes in cloud storage, subscribing to the Maker's PASS service, purchasing Single Plan Credits, purchasing Static Plans, generating Free Plans, purchasing physical Ready-To-Assemble (RTA) furniture, or using services purchased or accessed under previous versions of this Agreement ("you" or "your"). By accessing or using the ModMaker tool, authoring or modifying recipes in Turnifure Studio, accepting the Studio Terms of Service dialog, persisting recipes to cloud storage, purchasing Credits, buying Static Plans, subscribing to Maker's PASS, or purchasing physical furniture, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

2. Plan Generation and Licensing

2.1 Accessing Plan Generation

Access to generate or acquire CNC-ready furniture plans ("Plans") is obtained through one of the following methods:

  • Free Plans: Unlimited generations of specific models designated as "free" in our catalog.
  • Static Plans: Direct purchase of standard, pre-configured models without using the ModMaker customization tool.
  • Per-Model Unlocks: A per-model purchase option to customize and generate variations of a specific plan for personal use using ModMaker for 1 year.
  • Maker's PASS (Per-Model): A subscription that unlocks unlimited generations for a specific model and provides a commercial manufacturing license.
  • Legacy Maker's PASS (All-Inclusive): A legacy subscription that unlocked all paid models with a commercial license (no longer available for new purchases).
  • Legacy Unlocks: (For users with purchases prior to Nov 14, 2025, see Section 2.6).

2.2 Maker's PASS Subscription License (Commercial)

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, turnifure.com grants you, during an active Maker's PASS subscription period, a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Generate and Access Plans: Use the ModMaker tool to generate an unlimited number of Plans in both DXF and SVG formats for the specific model(s) covered by your Maker's PASS. (For Legacy All-Inclusive Maker's PASS holders, this applies to all paid designs available during your active 1-year subscription term).
  • Download Plans: Download the generated Plans.
  • Manufacture and Commercialize: Manufacture and commercialize the physical furniture products ("Products") resulting from the Plans within your country or territory at the time of subscription, provided your Maker's PASS subscription for that specific model remains active.

2.3 Per-Model Unlock License (Personal Use Only)

Subject to the purchase of a single model unlock, turnifure.com grants you access to generate variations of that specific design using the ModMaker tool for a period of one (1) year (365 days) from the purchase date.

  • Manufacturing Rights: You may manufacture the physical furniture Product resulting from the files generated during your active unlock period.
  • Strictly No Commercial Use: This license is for personal, end-user use only. You are strictly prohibited from selling, distributing, or commercializing the physical Product or the digital files. Commercial production requires an active Maker's PASS.

2.4 Static Plans License (Personal Use Only)

Subject to the direct purchase of a Static Plan, turnifure.com grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license regarding the specific pre-configured files purchased:

  • Fulfillment: The specific DXF and SVG files matching the parameters of your purchase will be delivered directly to you via email.
  • Manufacturing Rights: You may manufacture exactly one (1) physical unit of the furniture Product resulting from the purchased files.
  • Strictly No Commercial Use: This license is for personal, end-user use only. You are strictly prohibited from selling, distributing, or commercializing the physical Product or the digital files.

2.5 Free Plans License (Personal Use Only)

For models designated as "Free" on the platform, turnifure.com grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Generate Plans: Use the ModMaker tool to generate variations of the free model.
  • Strictly No Commercial Use: Products manufactured from Free Plans are for personal, end-user use only. Commercial sale of the physical products or distribution of the digital files is strictly prohibited.

2.6 Legacy Plan Unlock and "Mods" License

This section applies only to 'Plan Unlocks' purchased prior to November 14, 2025. 'Plan Unlocks' and 'Mods Packs' are no longer available for purchase. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, upon purchasing a 'Plan Unlock' for a specific design, turnifure.com grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Unlock Design Access: Gain access to the ModMaker tool for the specific purchased design for three hundred sixty-five (365) days from the date of purchase or last renewal.
  • Generate and Access Plan: Use the ModMaker tool to generate the selected Plan, consuming one (1) 'Mod' from your account per generation.
  • Personal or Commercial Use: Manufacture and assemble the resulting product ("Product") for personal or commercial purposes, consistent with the intended use of the design, provided your Plan Unlock for that design remains active. Restrictions under Section 3 still apply.

3. License Restrictions

  • No Transfer or Sharing: You agree not to share, transfer, sell, or distribute the generated Plans (DXF, SVG, or any other format) to any third party under any license tier. The license covers the physical manufacture of the object by you, not the redistribution of the digital file.
  • Time Limitation (Maker's PASS): The license granted under Section 2.2 is valid only for the duration of your active Maker's PASS subscription period. Upon expiry, your right to generate new plans and commercialize products from previously generated plans ceases, unless renewed. You agree to unpublish and/or remove from public view or sale any Products for which the corresponding Maker's PASS commercial license has lapsed.
  • Geographical Limitation (Maker's PASS Only): The commercial license granted under Section 2.2 is limited to the country or territory specified in your subscription.
  • No Exclusivity: This Agreement does not grant you any exclusive rights to manufacture or commercialize the Products. turnifure.com may license the same Plans to other Makers in your region.
  • No Impersonation or Misrepresentation: You agree not to impersonate turnifure.com, Javier Carrera, or sell the Products using the turnifure.com brand name. In all your marketing and sales materials, you must clearly identify turnifure.com as the designer of the Plans. You may use the following statement in your product descriptions: "Designed by turnifure.com. Manufactured by [Your Company Name]."
  • No Modification: You may not modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the digital Plans without the express written consent of turnifure.com, except for modifications inherent in the ModMaker tool's functionality.

4. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Credits

4.1 Maker's PASS Subscription

  • Subscription Fee: The subscription fee for a Maker's PASS is payable annually on a per-model basis.
  • Renewal: To maintain access to unlimited Plan generation for your specific model via ModMaker and continue manufacturing and commercializing the Products under the Maker's PASS license, you must renew your subscription for that model annually.
  • Legacy All-Inclusive Maker's PASS: Subscriptions purchased under the previous all-inclusive model will remain valid for one (1) year from their original purchase or renewal date. Upon expiration, the all-inclusive pass cannot be renewed, and commercial access must be obtained via the new per-model Maker's PASS.

4.2 Per-Model Unlocks & Static Plans

  • Purchases & Access: Per-Model Unlocks grant you unlimited generation access to customize a specific Plan via ModMaker for one (1) year (365 days) from the date of purchase. Static Plans bypass the ModMaker tool and are purchased directly and delivered via email.
  • Expiration: Per-Model Unlocks expire exactly 365 days after the transaction is completed.
  • Non-Refundable: Purchases of Per-Model Unlocks and Static Plans are non-refundable. It is your responsibility to verify the physical consistency of your dimensions and material thickness in the ModMaker preview before production.

4.3 Legacy Plan Unlocks and "Mods" System

This section applies only to purchases made prior to November 14, 2025.

  • Usage & Validity: Plan Unlocks are valid for 365 days. Existing 'Mods' credits do not expire, but can only be used for designs for which you have an active, unexpired Plan Unlock.
  • No Refunds: Money spent on purchasing Plan Unlocks or Mods Packs is non-refundable. Expired Plan Unlocks will not grant refunds for any unused included Mods.

5. ModMaker Usage & Fulfillment

  • Fair Use and Rate Limiting: To ensure fair access and system stability, turnifure.com reserves the right to implement automated rate limits on plan generations (e.g., maximum generations per minute) across all tiers. We reserve the right to restrict or ban accounts utilizing bots or automated scripts to abuse the Free Plans tier or the ModMaker tool.
  • No Plan Storage (ModMaker): turnifure.com does not store custom-generated Plans on its servers after generation via ModMaker. It is your sole responsibility to download and save both files (DXF and SVG) using the download links provided immediately after generation. You may re-generate files for unlocked models as many times as needed during your active 365-day access period.
  • Static Plan Fulfillment: Static Plans bypass the ModMaker generation UI and are generally fulfilled autonomously via email to the address provided at checkout. In the event of a system failure or technical error, turnifure.com reserves the right to fulfill the order manually within 24 hours of the transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure your email address is correct and capable of receiving file attachments.

6. Turnifure Studio, Cloud Storage (GCS), and Designer Recipe Ownership

6.1 Turnifure Studio Workspace & First-Time Acceptance

Turnifure Studio is a web-based parametric CAD/CAM development environment provided by turnifure.com. It allows designers, makers, and users to author, inspect, simulate, and modify digital parametric furniture recipes (in YAML or JSON format), test parametric variations in real time, inspect un-nested 2D CNC vector geometry, review 3D hierarchical assemblies, and generate Augmented Reality (AR) interactive previews.

Mandatory Acceptance: When registering, signing in via Google, or initializing your user account in Turnifure Studio, you must confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy via the mandatory confirmation checkbox or modal. Your acceptance date, timestamp, Terms version, and originating network IP address are securely recorded in your user profile for compliance, licensing, and audit verification. Cloud recipe persistence is strictly contingent upon your acceptance of this Agreement.

6.2 User Ownership of Recipes (100% Creator Property)

You retain 100% full, exclusive ownership, copyright, and all intellectual property rights in and to any and all original parametric recipes, YAML or JSON scripts, mathematical formulas, geometric coordinate definitions, custom joinery logic, component hierarchies, and parametric rules authored, created, or uploaded by you ("User Recipes") in Turnifure Studio or saved to our cloud storage.

turnifure.com does not claim any ownership, title, copyright, or proprietary interest in your original User Recipes. Your private recipes remain your exclusive property at all times. Entering, drafting, testing, or cloud-saving recipes in Turnifure Studio does not transfer any proprietary rights, trade secrets, or commercial ownership to turnifure.com.

Exclusions and Public Domain Carve-Out: Ownership rights under this Section apply strictly to original, creative design configurations, panel assemblies, and custom mathematical formulas authored by you. Ownership does NOT extend to:

  • Standard Woodworking & CNC Joinery: Common, public domain, or industry-standard mechanical woodworking techniques, including but not limited to dogbone corner reliefs, T-bone undercuts, standard mortise-and-tenon joints, standard dowels, drill bore patterns, or standard commercial hardware placements (e.g., Rafix, Minifix, hinges).
  • Turnifure Platform IP & Built-In Assets: Turnifure's proprietary CAD/CAM solver engine, Cloud Run nesting algorithms, Clipper2 WASM routines, built-in joint calculation macros, platform shaders, and default starter/demo recipes (including demo.yaml / playDesk2) provided by turnifure.com, which remain the exclusive intellectual property of turnifure.com or their respective licensors.

6.3 Cloud Bucket Storage (Google Cloud Storage), Confidentiality & Security

turnifure.com provides authenticated cloud persistence for User Recipes utilizing Google Cloud Storage ("GCS") in a dedicated, private bucket infrastructure (tf-recipes-uswest1) governed by the following operational and security standards:

  • User-Partitioned Isolation & Confidentiality: Recipe files are partitioned and isolated strictly by authenticated user account ID (e.g., recipes/{user_id}/{recipe_id}.yaml). Users cannot view, modify, or access recipe files belonging to other users unless explicitly published or shared. Your private recipes are treated as confidential creator property.
  • Encryption at Rest & in Transit: All recipe objects stored in Google Cloud Storage are protected using standard AES-256 server-side encryption at rest and encrypted in transit via strict Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Need-to-Know Technical Access: turnifure.com personnel and automated services access stored recipes solely on a strict need-to-know basis for platform maintenance, automated geometric constraint solving, crash investigation, or user-initiated support requests. turnifure.com will never sell, rent, or publicly disclose your private recipes to any third party.
  • Object Versioning & Generation Tracking: Native GCS object versioning is enabled on the storage bucket, recording timestamped historical generations every time a recipe is committed or saved. Users may inspect, label, duplicate, or restore earlier generations through the Turnifure Studio Version History interface.
  • File Constraints & Size Limits: Individual recipe files uploaded or saved to GCS are subject to a maximum size threshold of 512 Kilobytes (524,288 bytes) to ensure low-latency solver execution and maintain cloud service integrity.
  • Data Retention & User Deletion Rights: You maintain full control over your stored recipes. You may permanently delete any recipe, version, or generation from the GCS bucket at any time directly through the Turnifure Studio interface. Upon deletion, the associated cloud object and its version history are removed in accordance with standard cloud deletion cycles.
  • Transient Session Caching: Temporary preview tokens and session states generated for mobile Augmented Reality (AR Quick Look / Android WebXR) handoff are stored ephemerally in transient cache and automatically expire after a brief validity window.

6.4 Limited Operational License to Turnifure (Preview, Solvers & Nesting Rights)

In order to operate Turnifure Studio and provide real-time parametric modeling and vector preview tools, you grant turnifure.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license strictly and exclusively to:

  • Host and Store: Store, back up, transmit, and version your User Recipes in our secure GCS bucket infrastructure.
  • Parametric Solving & Vector Inspection: Parse and execute your recipe definitions on our cloud-native geometry solver to compute 2D vector draft paths, pocket cutouts, mortise-and-tenon joints, drill coordinates, and hardware placements.
  • Sheet Nesting & Material Yield: Calculate automatic sheet nesting layouts, multi-part fabrication clusters, bounding boxes, cutting path lengths, and estimated material yield across standard sheet stock dimensions.
  • 3D & AR Previews: Generate 3D surface meshes, textures, edgeband simulations, and mobile AR assets (USDZ/GLB) strictly to render previews for your active browser sessions, mobile testing devices, or authorized collaborators.

No Commercial Exploitation Without Consent: This limited operational license does NOT grant turnifure.com the right to sell, license, publicly distribute, monetize, or physically manufacture physical products from your private User Recipes without your explicit, separate written authorization or voluntary submission to the Turnifure Multi-Designer catalog under Section 9.

6.5 Diagnostic Telemetry, Solver Performance & Studio Optimization

To maintain system stability, optimize parametric constraint solver execution speeds, reduce CAD rendering latency, and eliminate bugs, Turnifure Studio collects technical telemetry and feature interaction data during active studio sessions. This includes solver solve times, WebAssembly (WASM) execution performance, error/crash traces, canvas rendering frame metrics, and general UI feature usage frequencies.

Telemetry collected is strictly operational and analytical; it is used exclusively to improve Turnifure Studio's CAD/CAM tooling, nesting algorithms, and system resilience. We do not sell or broker telemetry data, nor do we use it to reverse-engineer or misappropriate your proprietary furniture designs.

6.6 3D Previews, Reverse-Engineering Risk & Protective Measures

To deliver real-time 3D assembly visualization, interactive material simulation, and mobile Augmented Reality (AR) previews in Turnifure Studio and ModMaker, cosmetic 3D mesh geometries must be transmitted to and rendered by your client web browser's WebGL graphics engine.

Proactive IP Protection Measures: turnifure.com implements reasonable technical safeguards designed to protect designer intellectual property from digital scraping. These include delivering display meshes stripped of manufacturing formulas, CNC toolpath vectors, or machining coordinates, and introducing IP-protective micro-geometric perturbation ("protective jitter") and mesh decimation on 3D preview hulls to prevent exact mechanical reverse-engineering.

Disclaimer of Reverse-Engineering Liability: You acknowledge that because WebGL and browser client environments operate on user-controlled hardware, turnifure.com cannot guarantee that malicious actors or sophisticated third parties will not attempt to intercept, dump, or reverse-engineer client-side 3D display meshes using GPU debuggers, memory sniffers, or browser-level inspection tools. You expressly accept this technical risk, and agree that turnifure.com shall not be held liable or responsible for any unauthorized extraction, reverse-engineering, or misappropriation of 3D preview meshes executed by third parties.

6.7 Incorporation of Section 2 Licensing Rules for Catalog & Production

The licensing of physical furniture manufacturing, plan downloads, and digital CNC exports generated from recipes is governed strictly by Section 2 of this Agreement:

  • Private Studio Use: Private authoring, testing, and cloud-saving within Turnifure Studio does not grant third parties any right to download or manufacture your design.
  • Publishing & Distribution under Section 2: When a designer submits, publishes, or licenses a model for public distribution through the Turnifure catalog or marketplace (governed by Section 9), end-users and makers who generate or download CNC plans (DXF, SVG) do so subject to Turnifure's tiered licensing structure in Section 2:
    • Maker's PASS Commercial License (Section 2.2): Third-party makers may manufacture and sell physical furniture products resulting from the plans solely during an active, valid Maker's PASS subscription for that specific model within their licensed territory.
    • Per-Model Unlock License (Section 2.3): Grants an individual 365-day access to customize the model via ModMaker solely for personal, end-user manufacture. Commercial sale is strictly prohibited.
    • Static Plans License (Section 2.4): Authorizes the personal manufacture of exactly one (1) physical unit; commercial production and file redistribution are prohibited.
    • Free Plans License (Section 2.5): Personal end-user manufacture only; commercial sale or resale of digital files is strictly prohibited.
  • Nesting & Estimation Accuracy: Automated sheet nesting, material yield calculations, and cutting path estimates computed by Turnifure Studio are provided solely for visual inspection and workflow planning. In accordance with Section 7, actual cutting results depend on physical machine tooling, kerf, and operator setup, and turnifure.com provides no guarantee of physical nesting perfection.

6.8 No Prototyping, Physical Testing, or Engineering Certification

Turnifure Does Not Test or Validate Physical Furniture: Turnifure Studio is strictly a software CAD/CAM development environment and parametric constraint-solving platform. turnifure.com does NOT build physical prototypes, conduct structural engineering analysis, stress-test, load-test, or perform physical fitment, durability, or safety testing on any User Recipes, custom panel assemblies, or designs authored or modified in Turnifure Studio.

Designer Responsibility for Quality, Precision, and Safety: Designers retain sole and exclusive responsibility for the engineering, structural soundness, load-bearing capacities, material selection, hardware compatibility, dimensional tolerances, joinery precision, manufacturing feasibility, and overall safety and quality of their creations. You acknowledge and agree that digital simulations, 2D vector draft paths, and 3D preview assemblies rendered in Turnifure Studio do not constitute engineering approval, architectural certification, or a guarantee that a physical product built from your recipe will be safe, durable, or fit for any intended purpose. Designers and makers assume all risks and liabilities associated with the physical fabrication, assembly, and use of furniture resulting from User Recipes.

7. Responsibility, Compliance, and Liability

  • 3D Preview Consistency: It is your strict responsibility to thoroughly review the 3D preview of the assembled furniture within the ModMaker tool or Turnifure Studio before generating or cutting production plans. ModMaker and Studio allow for a wide range of parametric adjustments; however, certain combinations of extreme input parameters may cause the resulting design to be physically inconsistent, structurally unsound, or impossible to assemble. turnifure.com is not liable for material waste, time loss, or any other damages resulting from the generation of inconsistent designs due to unchecked parameter inputs.
  • Plan Verification: As the maker or user of the Plan, you are fully responsible for thoroughly checking the generated drawing (DXF, SVG, or any visual representation) for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies before any manufacturing process begins.
  • Manufacturing Setup: You are solely responsible for correctly setting up the job, tooling, materials, and parameters for any manufacturing machine (CNC router, laser cutter, etc.) to ensure the machine accomplishes your intended outcome successfully and safely based on the generated Plan.
  • Maker Responsibility & Compliance: As the purchaser of materials, manufacturer, and controller of the Product's quality, you are solely responsible for ensuring full compliance with all applicable local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices related to the manufacturing process and the final Product.
  • Disclaimer of Estimations (Material, Path, and Yield): The ModMaker tool and Turnifure Studio may provide estimations regarding required material, cutting paths, sheet nesting, and material yield based on your selected plan configuration. These values are provided strictly as estimates and are completely devoid of any guarantee. Actual material usage, cutting time, and yield will vary depending on your specific machine, tooling, kerf, nesting software, and manufacturing processes. turnifure.com is not liable for any discrepancies between these estimates and your actual manufacturing outcomes.
  • Disclaimer of Liability for Output: turnifure.com is not responsible in any manner for the outcome of any production resulting from the use of Plans generated via ModMaker or Studio. This includes, but is not limited to, errors in manufacturing, material waste, damage to equipment or tools, injuries to workers or end-users, or any other consequences arising from the manufacturing, assembly, or use of the Products. You assume all risks associated with the use of the generated Plans.
  • Assembly Responsibility: You remain solely responsible for the safe and correct assembly of the Product, and for providing adequate instructions if required, even if you are providing the manufactured parts to a third party.

8. Custom RTA Furniture Purchases

As part of an ongoing market testing initiative, turnifure.com may offer custom-made, Ready-To-Assemble (RTA) physical furniture in specific designated markets. The following terms apply exclusively to the purchase of these physical goods:

  • Fulfillment Scope: Unless explicitly stated otherwise on the specific product page at the time of purchase, RTA furniture purchases do not include assembly services or delivery to the final destination.
  • No Returns: Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of these physical products, all sales are final. Returns, refunds, or exchanges are not accepted unless specifically noted on the product page at the time of checkout.

9. Multi-Designer Platform

turnifure.com operates as a multi-designer parametric marketplace hosting designs from both in-house and selected third-party creators. Revenue-sharing and designer payout programs are active for approved platform designers, with compensation calculated based on direct design sales and Maker’s PASS per-model unlocks. For each design unlock, turnifure.com charges a 25% transaction fee and a 3% + USD 1 payment processing fee. These fees are subject to change.

Intellectual Property Disclaimer: turnifure.com acts solely as a distribution platform and does not guarantee the protection of any designer’s Intellectual Property (IP) for any design, in any market, from the moment a digital plan is downloaded or previewed. turnifure.com cannot and will not be held responsible or liable for the unauthorized distribution of digital assets, client-side 3D geometry extraction, unaccounted-for or unlicensed manufacturing, or any IP violations, thefts, or infringements of any kind committed by users, Makers, or third parties.

10. User Submissions and Content Suggestions

Any "Design Updates," "Idea Drops," feature suggestions, photos, renders, or content of any kind submitted to turnifure.com by designers or users do not imply any obligation on the part of turnifure.com to publish, broadcast, or promote them. All submissions are considered suggestions, and the decision to utilize, diffuse, or publish them rests entirely at the sole discretion of turnifure.com based on its operational convenience.
